Please join me in officially welcoming Daniel Tomko to the team. As many of you know, Daniel has been training at Swim4Tri for some time, and (among many other races) he competed in the Clearwater 70.3 Championship with several team members last fall. Daniel is now officially a team member, and has agreed to join the Board as the Workout Coordinator. Great to have you on board Daniel, and nice race pic.
------
Daniel Tomko knew he would be a triathlete the instant he learned of Ironman circa 1989, but didn’t attempt the sport until a sprint event in 2005. He has found triathlon to be so much fun he is still wondering what took him so long but was busy cycling, alpine climbing and backcountry skiing in the interim. He enjoys about any sport that requires a healthy dose of endurance, from cycling and running to adventure racing and ski mountaineering racing. When not training for endurance sports he can be found playing with his two children, brewing beer, taking photographs, or playing piano. Daniel's favorite triathlon events are IMCdA and the Wildflower Long Course, and he has competed in 5 sprints, 2 Olympics, one IM, and 6 HIM events. Daniel's favorite piece of Triathlon equipment is anything swim related because he’s still so new to the event. His goal for 2010 is mostly just to have fun, but along the way hopes to qualify for Cat 3 on the track, keep to improving in the water, increase his running mileage.
