Nice! How'd it go? What's the course like? I wanted to make it out for one of these races, but it's unlikely that I will at this point. Haven't road raced in a LONG time, but it'd be fun!

Here's a fairly in-depth CycleU team report: http://cycleuteam.blogspot.com/2010/03/mason-lake-road-race-mens-cat-4-mason.html. Spoiler: the report contains the word "ambulance"!
I wrote up a report too, in mail. If I post it somewhere, I'll link to it from here.
I rode Cat5, and there were 3-5 crashes in it, plus at least 2 broken hands. I was taken down by one of the crashes, but avoided a DNF and any lasting damage.
It looks like Mike faired a lot better than I did. Still, it was a lot of fun, and an interesting departure from team rides, bike commuting, and TT (in Triathlon). It requires (as many of you probably know) a whole different set of skills. The only real similarlity is that both sports involve bikes.
The course wasn't too pleasant. The 12 miles course was ~ 1/2 chip-seal. Also, 4-wide was a bit of a stretch on the relatively narrow road. I hear that the Mason Lake series is the worst of the year, plus it is a first race (of the year, or ever) for a lot of folks, so is the most likely to have crashes. Ouch.
