Not sure I was even going to do this today, after getting sick almost a week ago and my resting HR up 10 bpm over normal as of yesterday. Fortunately it was much closer to normal this morning so I decided to go for it. Probably a blessing in disguise, as I was unusually mindful of keeping pace in check in the early miles and drinking often.

It's a pretty easy course, with only 1 long climb at about mile 8 and 1 short steep hill at 1 mile to go. The first 7 miles are very gently rolling, and the last 4 miles are a downhill leading to a flat several miles (with the 1 hill at the end) Very pretty, with sections along the waterfront and several miles through Stanley Park. I started easy, backed off on the uphills, relaxed on the flats, and pushed on the downhills, with my last 4+ miles all my fastest. My watch finish time was 2:02:40, for an average pace of about 9:20.

Well executed race Chris, again, great job. You showed good discipline building into this race and the end result showed it.
