Active.com made sure to let me know I needed the following items for the upcoming Bridle Trails race. I would be lost without my sunglasses and sunscreen...

wow, wishful thinking, I like it!
Can I suggest the following slightly ammended list -
Water proof socks that extend up to your knees or maybe rain boots (it is going to be muddy)
No lycra (most of the runners on the 50k are Ultra runners and they don't tend to wear much lycra)
A good sense of direction (The course is marked but pay attention as when it rains and it is dark it gets hard to see. Alternatively follow someone who knows the course)
No ego (Could be tough for a few of our team but in the mud everyone will find it 20% harder than normal cross country running so don't expect fast times)
Money (so you can eat 2000 calories of pizza even though you only burned 460k on your run but still feel like you deserved it)

Add add these:
Extra Strong Ankles
A sense of humor
Black (not white) socks

Good advice about bringing the grubby clothes.
I am looking forward to this run (planning on the 10 miler myself). I've been up at Bridle Trails the last few weeks, but I imagine the snow is melting things down a lot there this week with the warmer temps. I am planning on wearing an old pair of running shoes that I used when I was in Walla Walla over Christmas for running in the snow and slush.
Last weekend when I ran around the park a few times it was especially muddy on the eastside of the park right along the road on the very narrow single track. I am sure it will be a mess over there, and there might be a few extra "treats" in the mud from the horses, so watch out!

this thing should be renamed to "A River Runs Through It" or "Nightmare at Bridle Trail."
the worse the conditions, the better the pizza will taste.
I have to admit that the pizza afterwards is the real motivator for me...I was up in the air about the run until Heidi told me about the pizza at swimming this morning:)
I personally am looking forward to the mudd and water - makes it a bit more interesting!!

Considering the pizza consumption after the race(run), I am wondering if there will be any good choices in restaurants since it's Saturday evening...maybe a reservation somewhere is a good thing. Does Pag's in Redmond have seating?
I know...Kris lives right over the 405 bridge, maybe we can order out some pizzas to her house?? We can help with her house remodel as well!

At the start line or finish line :p
I am planning to arrive early, around 2PM to register for the race and hopefully get decent parking with the RV.
See you all tomorrow!

I'm bringing my headlamp, and avalanche beacon in case I get lost and/or don't make it out before dark! :) I'll be there by 2:30 to register. Looking forward to NY Pizza afterwards. Has anyone that's been there noticed the Ironman Canada 1987 finishers certificate on the wall? Gotta support the local triathletes.

right on Hans! It was an great time in the mud...I have a new appreciation for the GU..
Thanks a ton for bringing the RV. I can't tell you how nice it was to be able to call the RV home for a few minutes after the run. It was heated and water was running...home sweet home!
We kinda' trashed the carpets, so let me know when I can clean them for you...trust me I can get them cleaned up again with the truckmount system I have.
Is there any beer left?

So here is my problem with hard workouts later in the day - I am sitting here bright awake at 1AM
Thanks for the offer Kirk, but I need to fire up the carpet cleaner anyway to get ready for that new treadmill - hey you guys cannot do anything I haven't seen before with 2 kids and 2 dogs
