Mount Rainier Duathlon

The Mount Rainier/Mount Peak Duathlon is fast approaching. It will be
Sunday, April 29. This USAT sanctioned event will be RFID chip timed. The
event begins at the old King County Fair grounds (now called the Enumclaw
Expo Center). The long course goes 8.5K and the short course goes 3K, both
using the local roads. Once on your bike, you will ride on rural roads
through farm lands (watch for Mount Rainier) riding up Mudd Mountain Dam
Hill and come to a decent down Highway 410 taking a hard left to the
fairgrounds, that is for the short course. If you are doing the long
course, you get to do this one more time. The final run is again on local
roads, actually taking you to the base of Mount Peak, both venues will
complete 6K.

I'm planning on doing this event. It's a great way to kick off the multisport season. I rode the bike course last weekend.
Some good news is they have resurfaced part of one of the rural roads that was getting a bit rough. On the desent down highway 410 there's still a pretty good sized pothole on the shoulder as you approach Enumclaw just before the golf course.:eek: I'll see ya there.
