Well, I finally did my first 1/2. It was a challenging race to say the least. I had trouble with the swim, and then on the bike I dodged hail, and torrential rain at times. But I must say it was a wonderful feeling when I crossed the finish line!!!! I accomplish what I set out to do, so overall I am happy with how things turned out.

Fantastic job Erik! I'm about to undertake the same thing next weekend. Any last minute words of wisdom?

Stay relaxed. I think I psyched myself out, and needed to simply stay focused and RELAXED. It was an amazing experience, so have a wonderful time.

Great work Erik. That was a very solid debut 70.3. The swim conditions (and hence swim times) were slow for this event except for a handful of the pros (who ironically had the best of the swim conditions) who seem to swim fast no matter the conditions.

The number of people who I saw pulled from the water on Saturday was a huge shock to me and the carnage continued through the day with a lot of dnf's at the race.

Well done for sticking to the task and getting it done.
