Hey Guys,
Just wanted to give some updates from Boulder. I am finally all moved in to my new house and settled into the new training routine. I am doing 5 swims, 5 rides, and 5 runs a week.
The swims are with the flatiron masters team, which attracts a lot of the pros over here, the swims are tri specific and usually pretty challenging. The pool is outdoor and 25 meter; I am trying to hang in there with the fastest lane at 1:15-20 base 100m pace.
I have a hard bike 2 times a week. Usually with Simon, Mary Beth Ellis, Chrissie, and Deon, another British pro. On Tuesdays is the interval ride which is on undulating farm roads or up a mt., and Saturdays is a mt. ride, which is very comparable to Mt. Lemon. The ride is usually 30 minutes easy up to the climb, then as hard as you can go for 3 hours.
As for running, its similar to the biking, 2 hard runs a week, with the Boulder Striders (the top running club in Boulder). Tuesday is a some variation of intervals (i.e hills, track, trail 1ks) and Friday I do HIM pace intervals, but those aren't bad. Yesterday we did 8x1k, odds 10k pace, and evens 5k pace. We did them at huge parking lot/corporate office area that we marked off for 1ks, it was a rolling course. I was holding 3:20 for the 5k efforts, but I felt like I was going to collapse.
Overall I am really happy with the move and I am really excited to start racing again in August.
Good luck in training and racing to everyone, hope all is well and enjoy the heat wave over there!
