I was not aware of this race until Friday which is probably why I agreed to run the race on Saturday. I have only done 3 individual running events ever, the last being 3 years ago and I was reminded why, I don't run (or bike and swim for that matter) as fast as I'd like to. In a triathlon I am more accepting of my run times since the run is proceeded by a swim and bike.

I was planning on doing a run of the same distance on race day so it worked out. The venue was nice. You start at Qwest Stadium, run on the viaduct through the Battery Street tunnel and run through downtown on 4th Avenue through the parade crowd of 200,000 cheering you on.

I was hoping to do the 8K (4.97 mile) run in 37 minutes, It took me 38. It was still pretty warm out when the race started at 6:30 PM.

Nice job Lee. You realize that you beat just under 80% of all men in the race and 85% of all participants.

By the way, few of us run as fast as we'd like to. Actually, does anyone?

Great job!!

If you have one interval work out every week, you will soon see big progress on your running. You have the endurance, you just need to get used to running faster, and intervals will help you.

Congratulation with your breakthrough season:)
