Doug Jungclaus - Welcome and Bio

Please join me in welcoming Doug Jungclaus to the Vo2 Team! Another strong biker and skier to add to the mix.

Doug Jungclaus came to triathlon less than one year ago, after getting bitten HARD by the tri bug, which has provided him an exciting new challenge on many levels. An avid outdoor enthusiast, Doug enjoys a wide variety of outdoor sports including road cycling, mountain biking, and rock and alpine climbing, among others. He has an extensive alpine skiing background, and spends his winters ski racing and searching for powder in the backcountry. Doug’s most relevant triathlon background is road cycling, which he will need to rely on heavily until his swim improves (and with help from Ben, that will happen!) An unabashed gear-fiend, Doug has many favorite pieces of tri equipment, but if forced to choose one, would cite his Cervelo P3C—it makes him ride harder to try and prove himself worthy of the bike. Last season was his first, competing only in several sprint distance races, to get the hang of things. His goals are to improve his fundamentals in all three disciplines and increase his speed in shorter races to prepare for longer challenges. His A race for next year is Lake Stevens 70.3, and his goal A race for 2011 is IMC.
